The Office Cam is Back!!!
This picture will update every 30 seconds if the camera is active.
Welcome to the dental office cam. The current set-up is an X-Cam wireless camera located in the lab area of the office. In the not too distant future we will be adding a second camera and integrating motion detectors that will activate the appropriate when there is movement in front of them.
Many have e-mailed to ask when we broadcast procedures. There is no set schedule, but keep checking back. If you happen to be watching and want to drop us a line, please send us e-mail.
If you watch for a couple of minutes, you may see different pictures come up. I have more than one (usually 2) cameras setup in the office and the software alternates pictures between all available cameras.
If the picture on the WebCam doesn't look like a dental office don't panic! As I travel around doing seminars on high tech dentistry, I sometimes hook the WebCam up to the laptop and send images out while the seminar is ongoing.
How's it done? The WebCam is done by running wireless cameras that are controlled by wireless motion sensors that turn the cameras on when there is motion in front of them. They are connected via a composite interface to an ATI All-in-Wonder video card.. This is a great example of the fact that I have way too much free time on my hands and way too much technology available.
