The amazing ability to provide SAME VISIT porcelain restorative dentistry is now available in our office.  We are proud to announce the arrival of CEREC!!!  Most patients that require porcelain restorative procedures can now have them done in  one visit with no impressions, no temporaries, and no second visits for cementing.

The other advantage is that porcelain restorative dentistry allows us to replace only the tooth structure that is missing or decayed allowing the patient to keep more of their natural tooth structure.  Due to the fact that this is adhesive dentistry, the restoration is actually bonded to the tooth and becomes part of the tooth structure as if no damage had ever occurred.

How's it done?  The essential steps to a one visit porcelain restoration are outlined below.  Questions about the procedure or the device?  Please send us e-mail

1.  The tooth is prepared using standard techniques.

2.  An "optical"  (I prefer to call it "digital") impression is taken using a specially designed "camera".  This impression is read by the Cerec onboard computer and appears on the monitor.

3.  The restoration is designed using a combination of input from the doctor and information from an extensive database.

4.  The restoration is milled by a robotic milling unit while the patient watches.

5.  The restoration is bonded into place.
